Community Development District Elections

Candidates for Board of Supervisors

The Board of Supervisors is a group of 5 Qualified Electors who are elected or appointed to staggered 4 year terms. The Board is responsible for actions to manage the Community Development District (CDD) it represents.

Required To Become a Board Member:

  • You must be a Qualified Elector: at least 18 years old, a citizen of the United States, a permanent legal resident of Florida, registered to vote in St. Lucie County, and a resident in the Lake Lucie Community Development District.
  • CDD Board members, whether elected or appointed, are public officers, and the State of Florida requires them to take Oaths of Office, to file annual Form 1: Statement of Financial Interests, and Form 1F when leaving office. They will also need to attend 4 hours of annual ethics training.

Desirable in a Board Member:

  • Previous experience with contracts, contractor management, government, construction, landscaping, or lakes maintenance is highly pertinent.

Information Regarding Special District Elections in November 2026

There currently is no information on the St Lucie Supervisor of Elections website for community development district candidates, as they generally do not need to go through the entire filing-finance reporting process.  All that is required is that they complete the following:

  • DS-DE 302NP– Candidate Oath – Nonpartisan Office (eff 10/2023) – must be notarized
  • Form 1 Statement of Financial Interests for calendar year 2025 – must be filed electronically with the Commission on Ethics and a printed copy provided
  • $25 check made payable to St. Lucie County Supervisor of Elections with notation “Qualifying Fee”

There is a two-week “prequalifying” period in which these documents can be accepted in any of our four office locations for review and to be held until Qualifying Week.  This prequalifying period begins on Monday, May 25th and ends on Sunday, June 7th. If documents are not submitted during the prequalifying period, Qualifying Week begins at noon on Monday, June 8th and ends at noon on Friday, June 12th.   Interested parties may call the Candidate Department at 772-462-1500 or email candidates@slcelections.com to make an appointment.

  • Qualifying Period: NOON, June 8, 2026 – NOON, June 12, 2026
  • Please call the Candidate Department at 772-462-1500 or email candidates@slcelections.com to make an appointment to file your qualifying forms.
  • Pre-qualifying papers may be accepted beginning May 25, 2026.

Seats 2 and 3 are up for election in November 2026. The Elections are run by St. Lucie County Supervisor of Elections on behalf of the district.
